About

During the awards, funds are raised for the New Zealand Rural Games Trust Scholarship programme to support rural youth pursuing rural sports and food and fibre related study.

The New Zealand Rural Sports Awards are held annually at Awapuni Racecourse in Palmerston North on the eve of the Ford Ranger New Zealand Rural Games.

Established in 2016, the awards are managed by the non-profit New Zealand Rural Games Trust established in 2014 – CC50438. The Board Chair is Margaret Kouvelis and the Board is made up of Athol Stephens, Richard Lange, James Stewart, Ben Allomes, Steve Hollander and Brendan Bourke.
