Rural Sports Auction

    Every year, an auction is held at the Ford New Zealand Rural Sports Awards to raise funds for charity. In 2026 we’ll be raising funds for Lean on a Gate, and for youth scholarships.

    Lean on a Gate Auction

    Craig ‘Wiggy’ Wiggins established Lean on a Gate to maintain and build connections within the rural community, as part of his advocacy work for mental health and wellness in rural communities. Today a small team delivers mental health support for rural New Zealanders, and the auction will help fund that work.

    The very talented Tony Waugh who helps run the fantastic Kimbolton Sculpture Festival has donated a significant sculpture to be auctioned to raise funds for Lean on a Gate.
